- Matrix Infinity V1 93 Mod Chip for PS2
After several guides, I decided to try and disable the Matrix Infinity. When turning on the PS2, I hold START, and the 'Infinity Disabled' shows up with 'Matrix Infinity 1.93' written in smaller font under it. I press reset to restart the PS2, as directed by several guides, but after the PS2 resets it just hangs on a black screen. Iirc, the latest firmware for matrix is 1.93, so if yours says 1.99 you have a clone. Don't try updating it or installing firmware or it will brick iirc. — Posts automatically merged - Please don't double post! — that modchip protection really fucked people over too. I believe even a legit disc will not run if it detects a modchip. I was a little surprised though since I had already updated the firmware to matrix infinity 1.93 a while ago and it hadn't had any of the side-effects which seem to go on with other fake chips. I must have been incredibly lucky without even knowing it. The chip was installed by my brother (sadly no longer with us) a couple of years ago so I. Hi all I bought a PS2 chipped with official Matrix Inifinty from a charity shop. Opened it up and it has the green dot and it also updates the firmware so it is confirmed not a clone.
However it will only boot PAL PS2 games (both DVD and CD) and nothing else. I have tried PAL, US and Jap NTSC PSX games and also backups, an Import US NTSC PS2 game as well as a couple of burned PS2 games and nothing will boot. I have managed to upgrade the firmware to 1.82 but would like to get it up to 1.93 ( the latest I believe) to eliminate a firmware issue. I have been over to SKS Apps to download the latest but when I download the 1.93 firmware and burn it it shows on my PS2 as 1.82 firmware. Also tried a few other sites but every single file I download which states '1.93' in the file name is in fact 1.82. I burning coasters here so was wondering if someone can please help me by directing me a to 'confirmed' 1.93 firmware? I already opened a thread here which will detail a bit more what the problem is and what I have doen so far but the thread went quiet I think because it was in the wrong section.
I will eventually take the PS2 apart to have a look inside to see if it is installed correctly but I would like to get the latest firmware installed before I do that to confirm it is not a firmware issue. Thanks for any help that you can provide.
