May 26, 2020 New MOTOTRBO firmware CPS and RM. The software release naming convention for MOTOTRBO will be changing. From now on, releases for Astro; TETRA and MOTOTRBO (as well as Broadband I think) will follow the same naming convention: MYYYY.NN. Radios shipping this month from the factory will have the firmware related to this release. Recently we have learned that Motorola has released new software and firmware for Gen2 Mototrbo subsribers (XPR7000/5000/SL series) called CPS 2.0 Many amateurs enjoy keeping up with the technology and keep their radios updated, however we strongly suggest not upgrading your Mototrbo Gen2 radios past firmware R02. And CPS 16.0 Build 823.

The new Motorola DTR700 digital radio requires a firmware update and customer programming software.

This new version provides the features and capabilities below:

1. Scan – radio stay on a channel is able to scan for other Public groups channel and Private groups which has the same hopset/profile ID.
